Welcome to SETA
Supporting Education Through Agriculture (SETA) is a philanthropic local food revitalization project established to provide free organic food to Jamaican elementary school children. In collaboration with international and local agriculture focused colleges, government programs, private organizations and individual donors, SETA's farm land serves as a learning lab for agricultural science students who receive practical skills training on how to grow organic produce and live stock which SETA donates to elementary schools in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
SETA was established to both respond to the growing epidemic of adolescent obesity on the island as a result of fast food imports and out of concern for the impact food has on a child's ability to learn. In an effort to contribute to the preservation of intellectual promise inhabiting Jamaican children, SETA's goal is to acquaint Jamaican youth with an education about the economic, nutritious and developmental benefits of growing and consuming organic food which they will continue throughout their lifetime. SETA welcomes the modest and generous support of sponsors, volunteers and nature enthusiasts in order to sustain its work to benefit school children in Jamaica.
