SETA invites eco-tourists, gardeners and nature lovers from all walks of life to volunteer their time and expertise in the SETA garden, doing light painting or minor repairs around the property. Modest room and board is available in exchange for donated time for those who seek a non-traditional, simplistic island vacation in the mountains of Montego Bay.
Equipment
Farming equipment is in great demand due to high costs of imports to the island. Donations of all types are welcome including wire for fencing, tools for planting, cooking supplies, gas as well as chemicals to fertilize plants, to kill invasive plants and to treat diseased plants. Your generosity is an indispensable resource to the student farmers who would otherwise be deprived of many rudimentary farming requirements.
Corporate Sponsorship
Airline and hotel sponsorship is needed to transport our international student volunteers and to house them during the visit to Jamaica to volunteer at the SETA farm and to encourage eco-tourism on the island. SETA is also happy to advertise eco-friendly products, farm related materials and local and international stores and services who support SETA's farm and programs.
Plants
A paradise of classic flowering plants, SETA farm is in need of produce seeds for children and students to plant as part of their education programs. The food grown will be donated to local elementary schools Montego Bay.
Livestock
SETA farm raises chickens because they are in high demand in Jamaica and are a safe animal for children to interact with while learning about what chickens eat, where eggs come from and how to care for them.
Money
Your financial support is an equally valuable contribution which will be used to purchase items not donated, pay for 24 hour security and supervision of the garden and livestock in order to prevent tampering and theft. Monetary donations also go towards annual scholarships awarded to exceptional students in Jamaica who have demonstrated an interest in continuing their education in Agricultural Science in Jamaica or aboard.
Professional Services
SETA seeks likeminded Jamaican patriots and international farming and education enthusiasts to donate their time to perform skilled roles in the administration of SETA's farming program. The roles sought are: Landscape artist Photographer Operations Manager Lawyer Agriculture Science Instructor Stone mason Electrician Solar energy specialist Painter Security Live in staff Exterminator Data analyst Accountant
